Enid High Baseball - Enid Plainsmen Baseball Coaches and Staff
James Peoples #8 Head Coach
The
Plainsmen baseball program is entering its 1st season under the Coach Peoples.
Coach Peoples first coaching job was with Enid in 1994 and he has remained loyal
to the Big Blue ever since. James is about to enter his 16th season as a
Plainsman coach after serving as an assistant coach under head coaches Mickey
Guerkink, and Scott Baugh from 1994-2009. James served the past 8 years as the
Assistant Head Coach.
Coaches Peoples was born April 11, 1969 in
Sherman, Texas. James married his wife Sandy on May 19, 2004. James has 2 sons,
Spencer 13, and Trevor 12.
James played his high school baseball at
Silo High School. During high school he tied a state record by striking out 21
batters in a 7 inning game. Coach Peoples was selected to play on the
prestigious Oklahoma-California All Star Team (currently called the Sunbelt
Team). Coach Peoples continued his baseball career in college by signing to play
at Seminole Jr. College for legendary Coach Lloyd Simmons. While at Seminole,
James was voted All Conference in 1988. James played the remainder of his
college career at Southeastern University in 1990-1991 in
Durant for another Oklahoma Coaching Legend Mike Metheny.
Coach Peoples
is a long time Enid Legion head coach. In 2003 James coached the Enid AA Legion
team to a State Championship as the head coach. In 2009 he served as an
assistant coach on the Enid AAA Legion team that was the State Runner-Up. Coach
Peoples summer teams are known to be disciplined, and hard nosed. Coach Peoples
cites 3 coaches as having the most influence over his coaching style, Lloyd
Simmons, Mike Metheny, and Billy Jack Bowen.
The Enid baseball program is
in good hands with Coach Peoples. During James tenure on the Plainsman staff
Enid has been to the state tournament 6 times. (1995,2004,2005,2006,2008, and
2009)
Peoples has had a hand in sending Enid players to the next level
with such players as Justin Pirtle (Cowley County C.C.), Justin Helterbrand
(Cowley County C.C.), Caset Eckstein (Cowley County C.C.), Curtis Gay (Oklahoma
City U), Brent Hibbets (NOC Tonkawa), Brandon Long (NOC Tonkawa), Doug Whitmer

He is married to Sandy and has two children, Spencer and Trevor.
Chris Jensen #25 Assistant Head Coach
Chris
Jensen is entering his eighth year as an assistant coach for the Plainsmen. He
is also serving as the head coach for the Enid Majors, where he had served as an
assistant coach the last six years. Before arriving in Enid, Jensen was an
assistant coach at Norman North High School.
Jensen is a 1996 graduate
of Norman High School. Jensen was a starting outfielder for the 1995 state
championship team. Jensen played college baseball at Rose State College where
he earned All Conference honors as a designated hitter. Following his Rose
State career, he finished at East Central University, where he received All
Conference honors as an outfielder.
Jensen was an assistant for James
Peoples when their team won the 2003 American Legion AA State Championship.
Jensen was an assistant for Bill Mayberry in 2005 when the Enid Majors won the
American Legion World Series. In 2005, Jensen received the American Legion Jack
Williams Memorial Leadership Award.
Jensen has been
influenced over the years by many coaches including: Bear and Buzz Jensen, Jack
Harvey, Shannon Enfield, Butch Lingenfelter, and Bill Mayberry.
Chris and wife Kellie have a two year old son named Blake. Kellie is
expecting twin girls in June.

Dennom Sullivan #22 Head JV Coach, Assistant Varsity Coach
Dennom Sullivan is in his ninth year as an assistant coach for the Plainsmen. Sullivan played his Freshmen year of college baseball at Phillips University in Enid. He then moved on to play his Sophomore season at Western Oklahoma State. Sullivan graduated from Junior College and finished his playing days at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. He graduated from West Texas in 2000 with a degree in Sports & Exercise Science. Sullivan was prepped at Trinity H.S. in Euless, Texas, 1996.
Dennom and his wife Jennifer have a son Brock and a daughter Emma.
Rob Mills - Junior High Assistant Coach
Rob Mills is entering his 2nd season as an assistant coach for Enid High
Plainsmen baseball. Robb Mills is a graduate of Altus High School. He
graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2002 with a degree in
Education. Coach Mills taught his first year in Altus, Oklahoma where he
coached basketball, football and baseball. He moved to Enid to be part
of the Pacer basketball program, and has coached basketball here for the
last 7 seasons. Coach Mills is also a part of the football staff at the
High School. Coach Mills has been married to his wife Carrie for over
four years now. Carrie teaches kindergarten at Glenwood Elementary. They
have a son named Brody.

Billy Carr - JV Assistant Coach
Rob Kappus - Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer 9th Season
Rob is a part of the Plainsmen staff through a partnership with Integris Bass Baptist Hospital. Rob is a 1991 graduate of Bishop Kelley High School, where he was trainer for the football and soccer teams. Following his high school career, Rob attended St. Gregory’ Junior College in Shawnee. While at St. Gregory, he worked as a trainer for the men’s basketball team. He then attended the University of Oklahoma, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Sports Sciences, with a minor in history. During his time at OU, he
volunteered as an athletic trainer for Norman High School. After completing his undergraduate work, Rob completed his Masters Degree in education at the University of Tulsa, where he worked at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center as a graduate assistant. While at Tulsa University, he provided physical therapy services at EOOC in the morning and covered high school sports at Charles Page High School in the afternoons.

Plainsmen News
The Enid High Baseball team is putting on a Golf Tournament on Friday May
28th at Meadowlake Golf Course. Entry Fee is $50.00 per person or $200.00 for a
team of four. The tournament will be a scramble format, and the start time will
be 11:00 AM. This will be the day before the Jr College World Series Tournament
that is being held at Enid High's home field at David Allen Ballpark. We hope
that fans of the World Series teams visiting Enid will come out and participate
in our day of fun at Meadowlake. For more information call Enid High School Head
